Cheerleaders

My posts in the Jan, My Love series had said, “There’s a New York Herald Tribune photograph of Jan as a cheerleader from the 1940s that I wish I could scan well enough to show. That picture got her stalked!”

I move that statement here, and add two similar:

Jan and I met a beautiful woman at the line dancing venue, and invited her acquaintance. We haven’t gotten to know her very well but I’ve seen her a couple of times: and old cheerleading pics came up. She told me that she’d been photographed in her cheerleader garb for Life Magazine and that the picture had been used: filling a whole page. By golly, she brought the pix in to show me! Wow, caramba. Crazy thing is, she’s almost that good looking still: near seventy-five!

But a short time before either incident my old girl friend from 1958, Jackie, sent me some pics of her from that period: and damn if she didn’t include an older high school pic or her and her NJ cheerleader squad. Dynamite women! Then, and still.

I scanned Jackie’s pic, but it was quite scratched. I may add Jan’s pic. I doubt that Carol will let me scan her Life triumph.

About pk

Seems to me that some modicum of honesty is requisite to intelligence. If we look in the mirror and see not kleptocrats but Christians, we’re still in the same old trouble.
