pk School Stories Note

I used Knatz.com to tell stories. Initially my stories illustrated whatever my current module’s subject was. Whether pk was a character or not, the story was part of the Teaching text. Then I added personal stories to the Personal Area. Then I told school stories, but soon moved them to the deschooling domain (and blog), InfoAll, as didactic more than personal.
Now all stories, all modules, are to be recreated here: and I’ll use the pages and categories to label them.

I move the school stories first. The HierCon Stories menu is under: Knatz.com / Teaching / Society / Social Order / DeGate / HierCon / School /
where HierCon is of course a symbol opposing kleptocratic institutions subversion of human values: Against artificial politically imposed hierarchies and their subversion of the possibility of a “Christian,” convivial society.

The point, the centerpiece, of this section is my narrative of how my doctoral orals committee asked me questions then interrupted my answers, never hearing the point, and seeming not aware that they were “trying” negatively, not positively: communication from lower down on their hierarchy to higher up impossible except at their pleasure. That was after nearly a decade of trying and after three decades of already knowing the pattern from public schools through college. It was also after I’d already offered this hypocritical dysfunctional suicidal kleptocracy a solution: straight from the essence of the Christian Jesus: foreswear coercion, disavow compulsion: build convivial institutions to try to neutralize the toxic effect of the self-serving institutions of the regular kleptocracy: let the public build its own cybernetic data base of human resources, me offering myself as the electronic village’s digital librarian.

Thus my PhD Orals story is the foundation stone.

But other stories come first, and still others follow. In chronological order:

Grade School:
Baked Goods, Discounted — in which my teacher broke her pattern of thanking children who brought cookies for the class, called me a liar when I presented my own offering. A boy wasn’t allowed baking talent in her narrow world of stereotypes.

Junior High School:
School Elections — Illich called schools the society’s reproductive organ: the schools of a society of thieves will reproduce, guess what? a society of thieves! I was sent to the principal’s office for mocking their pathetic efforts.

Jr. High Lit — In which the teacher forbade me to do a book report on Isaac Asimov’s science fiction novel: THE literature of the 20th Century being forbidden in the schools.

Jr. High Math — In which the kleptocracy’s “teacher” proves innumerate as well as illiterate.

About pk

Seems to me that some modicum of honesty is requisite to intelligence. If we look in the mirror and see not kleptocrats but Christians, we’re still in the same old trouble.
