Institutional Illusions

Nowhere are humans better deceived than when institutions convince them that the institutions’ are necessary: unless it’s when they convince their hosts that their purpose is benign.

(Abstractions like Justice or Truth and Liberty are routinely appealed to by the illusionist alphas.)

Seems to me that some modicum of honesty is requisite to intelligence. If we look in the mirror and see not kleptocrats but Christians, we’re still in the same old trouble.
