Presbyterian Recrudescence

I title this sub-section of my church stories Presbyterian Recrudescence: I was confirmed in a Presyterian Church: many of my church memories and experiences are “Presbyterian” in some way. One post goes into what “Presbyterian” means; here I’ll say a quick word of the “Recrudescence” part of it.

Recrudescence is a recurring of something, particularly something harmful, unpleasant, toxic, diseased … Think of “re-,” a prefix meaning “again,” and “crud.” Re-crud. Recrudescence.

I got away from the Presbyterian church a long time ago, 1957 or so. But it keeps coming back, and coming back.
