Readers click that they Like a post, I’m notified by email. Readers Comment on a post, I’m notified by email. Good.
But when I visit the visitor, and leave a comment, let them know I appreciate their visit, WordPress posts my Comment at their blog, then starts sending me their email!
Now my mailbox is jammed with WordPress announcments seemingly intended for other WP blogs, but sent to me!
Do they also get their mail? Are the messages send to me duplicates? Then I can just throw them away. But what if they’re not?
I’ve tried, and tried, to notify WordPress but I have yet found no way to contact them. I could try buying an “upgrade,” but can’t be sure in advance that that would work either!
I’ve written to the first half dozen fellow-victim blogs: adoptingjames, duckpond, Canadian Hiking Photos, Humanity777, iGameMom … Maybe they have no way of contacting WordPress either!
Now I don’t dare respond to the visitors’ blogs even where I love the blog: then I’ll get their mail too! Maybe I could try to get their email address and email them, but that would drain all my time from resurrecting my old fed-censored files: way more than 3,000 text files still to go!
