Deschooling Thinkers

Illich Circle
Ivan Illich is the father, he gets his own menu, however yet underdeveloped.

more of course could be added

pk is an Illich “son,” this whole thing is pk. Ivan Illich is the principle saint behind deschooling. In this deschooler’s mind he is the most compelling, most cogent analyst of schooling: and proposer of viable alternatives. (I wound up taking it further, but he gave the big push to start me down the path.)

Grandfather Thinkers, Path Blazers
Thinkers Before FLEX (sort of chronological)

Father Thinkers, Matrix Setters

I’m claiming them, I’m not saying they claimed membership.

Deschooling Activists, School Critics

Thinkers sort of contemporaneous to FLEX but with no connection to FLEX:

Thinkers since FLEX (few mentioning FLEX, few betraying any awareness of FLEX)

Alvin Toffler
and others I’ll add

Who cares these days? (duplicates link on Illich page)

    Don’t ever forget:

  1. Ma Bell never answered my 1970 offer to them.
  2. I offered my internet to IBM in 1971, they chose to ignore it.
  3. TimeLife came after me in 1972, then remained silent.
  4. In other words, history is not only not complete, it is not honest.

About pk

Seems to me that some modicum of honesty is requisite to intelligence. If we look in the mirror and see not kleptocrats but Christians, we’re still in the same old trouble.
