Schools Hobble Honesty: Schools Promote Dishonesty
When only a dozen or so modules were up, the tree structure of my home page was fairly clear: Biographical Background there; Creative Writing over there; and new expository writing here. By the time a hundred or so modules were up those distinctions blurred ever more, as they were intended to. This FIX directory is pointed to directly by my Biographical Background. The Academic Bestiary in my Life’s Overview point directly to the following conclusion:
My seventh grade math teacher shared some college math with us kids merely on the brink of puberty. The sophomore geometry teacher read us axioms I recognized to be neither Euclid’s nor up to date. I challenged them. The teacher just repeated the text. I went back to looking out the window: the only place my mind was safe in the school system.
The schools gain some requisite minimum of attention from those who can’t tell a silk purse from a sow’s ear. The schools alienate those who can. Or they teach a double standard: be as critical as you can when reviewing reviews of unimportant things (like literary classics); govern (this is, choke) your judgments when it comes to important things: education, government, social safety …
