Conditioning by the schools gets tweaked, adjusted, retuned to suit the changing agendas of a kleptocracy. One thing the current schools do is actually a readjustment to old old conditioning: actually, an almost “natural” condition: the belief that nothing needful happens in nature: all depends on man’s interference. We don’t trust the sun to “rise” without magic on our part. We don’t trust God to dispense justice on his own: we have to guide him. (Or rather we trust God to dispense justice only too well: we have to interfere to subvert justice to mercy: otherwise we know we don’t have a chance).)
Once upon a time you couldn’t talk to God except through a priest (trouble was: did the priest have God’s ear?) Today you can’t talk to the government except through a congressman (same trouble: does the congressman have the government’s ear? Is there a God? Is there a government? The existence of the priest doesn’t prove the existence of God. Neither does the existence of a congressman prove the existence of a government: certainly not of one that can hear.)

I’ll hope to make time to a better job with these important themes. Meantime, realize. Today’s schools are here not only to rehearse you in the belief that learning depends on schooling, on teachers; but to condition you to believe that everything vital depends on government interference: from prosperity to survival.
Governments are recent: six or so thousand year history. Modern man can be dated to 50,000 years, 80,000, 150,000 years … Man to a couple of million years … Humans have prospered (or not), mated (or not), developed culture, morality, art … perfectly well without supervision throughout that time: until recently: six thousand miserable years: while the impoverishment of the biosphere accelerates around us. I don’t know whether we have another decade to go before it all falls apart, or another century, or a bit longer; but another six thousand years? No way. And certainly not another 50,000, 80,000, 150,000, 2 million … Not unless we parasitize the whole universe: which I pray we fail to do.
