Two Kinds of Nazi

Notes further developing a ubiquitous K. attitude
This one relates to K. Reading Notes: Erik Larson, In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler’s Berlin.

The Nazi Party gained in German early in the 1930s. Even by the height of the Third Reich not every German was a member of the party. When Hitler was elected, democratically notice, not every German was a member of the party. So, if we limit the meaning of “Nazi” to something technical, something objective, something factual (if facts could be established where the whole country and many of its records were burned, by Nazis, then by the Nazis’ enemies) the Nazis were a minority: no matter how many “elections” they won.

Nazi by Dint of Not Stopping the Nazis

But lighten up, what right do humans have to be technical? Consider this meaning for Nazi:
You were a Nazi if you carried a card identifying you as a member of the party,
You were a Nazi if while uniformed Nazi thugs, brown shirts, black shirts, were beating a Jew and his pregnant Jewess wife to death in the open streets of a German city of an evening in 1932 or 1933 you, a citizen, (either) joined in in the beating: (or) if you, a citizen, just stood there and stared: and said nothing.

The soldiers who crucified Jesus were Romans: but likewise under Roman thrall were the Jews and friends of Jesus, disciples of Jesus, who cowered on Golgotha throughout the crucifixion.

Who’s a Christian will be up to God, not up to the Christians.

Thus, every American not in jail, not just swept out of jail, not being pursued for jail, not excreted from the Fortune 500 controlled market economy, is a Nazi.

Notice that I can cite authority for this allegation: as my Hierarchy vs. Conviviality Stories narrate, I and my roommates were bullied by a sophomore advisor who used our room, without our permission, indeed, against our will, to launch flaming tennis balls down onto the campus. I jumped on Steve’s back to tried to wrestle him away from the lighter fluid and away from the window. Steve was older, bigger, stronger than me. My roommates, who stood there, were punished. I too was punished, with the same punishment! because: according to the Nazis there in charge of Judgment that day, I had failed to stop him. I was responsible for my failure.

Contradictory? What else do you expect from a human?

Anyway, it’s not contradictory, and I’m not human.

I can’t wait to see Jesus in hell being punished for his failure to save us.

I’ll be there too, punished for failing to get you to accept the Jesus-inspired internet Illich conceived of and I tried to build and expand on in 1970.
Right beside us will be the Iroquois, Sutter, the Trail of Tears …

And tie this in: Every day Christians stand with their thumb in their ass while their priests misrepresent the Bible, preach refuted messages, use monkeyed text, whitewash the evidence in favor of those with their thumb in their ass. Are the anal-retenters responsible? or only the lying priests?

Well, I’ll gladly suffer in hell, and won’t object to Jesus suffering next to me, so long as everyone else is also there!

About pk

Seems to me that some modicum of honesty is requisite to intelligence. If we look in the mirror and see not kleptocrats but Christians, we’re still in the same old trouble.
