Intelligence

Intelligence has been a major theme of my work for more than half a century, but there was no single module titled “intelligence” at my federally censored Knatz.com. I don’t believe there was at any of my co-killed domains. The intelligent reader won’t be fooled: of course the deschooler’s subject is intelligence. Of course offering an internet to replace compulsory schooling concerns intelligence.

For starters here I repeat a perennial pk point: it’s a little suspicious when a species dubs itself intelligent: just as it’s suspicious when a people dub themselves God’s Chosen. The people offer a book saying that that’s what God says: where does God confirm it? All the documents on what God says come from humans!

All the claims about human intelligence come from humans. It would be nice if we were similarly praised by an intelligent race from Deneb, or from Rigel: or from another galaxy! It would be nice if we had God’s word (from God! confirmably!) that we were intelligent.

I add: the Church claims that it represents God. These days universities, schools, claim that they serve education, learning, informaiton … intelligence … survival … That’s what government too says, and media … All voices of doubt are ruthlessly supressed, no records being kept of the supression. But, all you have to do to see it is to say something doubtfull, something intelligent. Watch out. And wear a groin protector.

Best: don’t say anything until you’ve squirreled away your own island somewhere, with treaties with all the major kleptocracies.
Of course that didn’t do Sutter any good. The gold-rushers burned the courthouse!
Hard, but still: try your best to make sure that kleptocracy A, B, C … have copies of your treaties with kleptocracy D, E, F … Still yet, don’t be so naive as to assume that any of them are honest: and don’t assume too glibly that you are either!

Humans devote a lot of brain power to being stupid.

Applies to social groups, especially mammals.

About pk

Seems to me that some modicum of honesty is requisite to intelligence. If we look in the mirror and see not kleptocrats but Christians, we’re still in the same old trouble.
